DTH subscriber base drops in India: TRAI data

The number of total active subscribers with pay DTH operators stood at 59.91 million at the end of September 2024, according to TRAI. This marks a decrease from 62.17 million in June 2024.

The total active subscriber base of pay DTH, excluding DD Free Dish, decreased by approximately 2.26 million during this period.

Tata Play leads with 31.99 percent market share, followed by Bharti Telemedia at 29.38 percent, Dish TV India at 19.53 percent, and Sun Direct TV at 19.10 percent.

There are 845 MSOs and 1 HITS operator as of September 30, 2024, with 11 MSOs and 1 HITS operator having a subscriber base exceeding one million.
