T-Mobile offers $5 device connection plan for customers

Starting October 17, T-Mobile is launching a new offer allowing customers to connect smartwatches, tablets, and laptops to its network for $5 per device each month with its Go5G Next and Go5G Business Next plans. This undercuts competitors AT&T and Verizon, which charge significantly more for similar services.

T-Mobile claims its 5G network delivers fast, secure speeds comparable to Wi-Fi. Additionally, T-Mobile will cover the cost difference between Wi-Fi-only and cellular-enabled devices, meaning customers won’t have to pay extra for the cellular version of tablets, smartwatches, or select laptops — potentially saving up to $200.

For laptop users, T-Mobile is introducing the TCL LINKPORT IK511, a USB-C device that can turn almost any laptop into a 5G-connected machine, available for under $50 for a limited time.

In addition to device connection perks, T-Mobile is enhancing its device protection plan, Protection 360, with unlimited claims for accidental damages and free screen repairs.

T-Mobile’s Go5G Next plans also offer added benefits like data allowances (30GB of high-speed data for tablets and laptops, followed by reduced speeds), global coverage for smartwatches, and savings compared to rival networks. For families, T-Mobile estimates savings of over $600 a year compared to similar plans at AT&T and Verizon.

To sweeten the deal, T-Mobile is offering $200 off select Samsung Galaxy smartwatches and tablets when added to Go5G Next or Go5G Business Next plans.
