Qualcomm, the renowned chip-maker, made a significant announcement on Monday, introducing the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Mobile Platform tailored for Android flagship smartphones.
Major industry players, including Honor, iQOO, realme, Redmi, and Xiaomi, have used the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 mobile platform, with the anticipation of commercial device announcements in the near future.
According to the company, the platform boasts several key features such as support for generative AI capabilities, an always-sensing Image Signal Processor (ISP), hyper-realistic mobile gaming performance, breakthrough connectivity, and lossless high-definition audio.
Qualcomm stated that it supports a wide range of AI models, including popular large language models (LLM) like Baichuan-7B, Llama 2, and Gemini Nano.
“With capabilities including on-device generative AI and advanced photography features, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is designed to enhance user experiences, fostering creativity and productivity in their daily lives,” Chris Patrick, senior vice president and general manager of mobile handsets at Qualcomm Technologies, said.
William Lu, Partner and President of Xiaomi, Xiaomi aims to offer a personalized premium experience, all thanks to the innovative generative AI capabilities integrated into the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
