Smartphone shipments in the Philippines dropped 8 percent Quarter-on-Quarter and 6.8 percent year-on-year to 3.9 million units in Q3 2022, according to IDC.
“Phone vendors took a conservative approach by clearing inventories, maintaining prices of existing models, and sustaining momentum by bringing in more affordable smartphones,” said Angela Medez, Senior Market Analyst at IDC Philippines.
Leading smartphone suppliers in the Philippines are Realme (with 23.4 percent share), Transsion (15.8 percent), Samsung (15.6 percent), Oppo (15.5 percent) and Vivo (13.2 percent) during the third quarter of 2022.
