TIM Brasil signs managed services deal with Amdocs

Telecom Lead America: TIM Brasil has signed a five-year
managed services deal with Amdocs to focus on customer needs and service
innovation while realizing operational cost efficiencies.

Amdocs will manage TIM Brasil’s OSS and BSS across its
wireless, wireline and broadband businesses.

The OSS-BSS major will provide application development
and maintenance as well as assume responsibility for legacy systems and
third-party OSS vendor contracts.

Amdocs will also manage its products deployed across
TIM’s businesses, including the end-to-end order to cash solution suite at TIM
Brasil’s new fiber optic residential broadband service.

Luigi Longarini, IT Director of TIM Brasil said TIM
Brasil will directly benefit from Amdocs’ 30 years of expertise in managing
complex operations. As a result, the telecom operator expects to achieve
accelerated growth, cost reduction and further improvements in our customers’
experience.

Patrick McGrory, president, CALA (Caribbean and Latin
America) for Amdocs, said Amdocs will assume responsibility for all of TIM
Brasil’s third-party and legacy OSS systems freeing them to focus on developing
innovative new services and market offers while keeping operational costs under
control.

In February 2011, TIM Brasil selected Amdocs to provide
the foundation for its B/OSS transformation initiative supporting its wireless
and wireline network; the first phase went live later that year.

In March 2012, TIM Brasil selected Amdocs BSS and OSS
solutions services to additionally support its new fiber optic broadband
service. Following this deal, TIM launched its residential broadband
service in five months after the contract signing. This will enable TIM Brasil
to realize cost efficiencies while delivering new, lower-cost bundled services
to its customers.
