Xiaomi drops to third rank in India 5G smartphone segment: IDC

Xiaomi India has dropped to the third slot within the 5G smartphone segment, which contributed 25 percent of its overall shipments, according to IDC report.

IDC report indicates that Xiaomi India has shipped 1.75 million 5G smartphones to India. Indian telecom operators such as Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio are aiming to launch 5G services in select cities after securing 5G spectrum.

Smartphone shipment including 4G and 5G smartphones of Xiaomi touched 7.1 million (9.8 million) for a market share of 20.4 percent (29.2 percent).

Realme’s 4G and 5G smartphone shipment reached 6.1 million (4.9 million) for a market share of 17.5 percent (14.5 percent).

Smartphone shipment of Vivo touched 5.9 million (5 million) for a market share of 16.9 percent (14.8 percent).

Smartphone shipment of Samsung was 5.7 million (5.5 million) for a market share of 16.3 percent (16.3 percent).

Smartphone shipment of Oppo was 4 million (3.9 million) for a market share of 11.5 percent (11.6 percent).
