Infineon raises 2022 revenue outlook after results beat

Infineon, one of the leading semiconductor companies, said revenue grew by 22 percent to €3.298 billion in the second quarter of the 2022 fiscal year.
Infineon chipsetInfineon has generated revenue of €1,491 million (+22 percent) from the Automotive (ATV), €430 million (+19 percent) from Industrial Power Control (IPC), €925 million (+18 percent) from Power & Sensor Systems (PSS) and €448 million (+36 percent) from the Connected Secure Systems (CSS) segments during the March quarter.

The gross margin of Infineon improved from 41.5 percent to 42.9 percent.

“Uncertainties, in particular the war in Ukraine and the further course of the corona­virus pandemic, are placing stress on supply chains. At the same time, demand for our products and solutions continues to exceed supply significantly,” Jochen Hanebeck, CEO of Infineon, said in a news statement.

Infineon expects to generate revenue of around €3.4 billion in the third quarter of the 2022 fiscal year. ATV segment revenue is forecast to grow by a mid-single-digit percentage. Revenue growth in the IPC and PSS segments is expected to be within the low single-digit percentage range, while CSS revenue is likely to be slightly down quarter on quarter.

Infineon expects to generate revenue of €13.5 billion plus or minus €500 million (previously €13 million) for the 2022 fiscal year. Revenue in the ATV and CSS segments is predicted to grow at a slightly faster percentage rate than Group revenue. The revenue growth rate in the PSS segment is forecast to be similar to that of the Group. IPC segment revenue is expected to grow by around 10 percent.
