Telecom Lead America: TE Connectivity has deployed its
distributed antenna systems (DAS), including FlexWave Prism, InterReach
Spectrum, and InterReach Fusion to address capacity crowds in key venues at the
Democratic and Republican national conventions.
The DAS products will provide 3G and 4G mobile coverage
and capacity at these major events.
With DAS products in place, delegates, reporters and
support staff at the vent will be able to send and receive texts, e-mails,
videos, and other bandwidth-intensive data.
The Democratic National Convention is going to take place
in Charlotte, NC, whereas the Republican National Convention will be taking
place in Tampa Bay.
When mobile services have to be ubiquitous and robust
enough for capacity crowds in major venues, mobile operators and building owners
increasingly call on TE Connectivity for solutions,” said Alan Clarke,
president of network solutions at TE Connectivity.
The company claims that its DAS solutions are ideal for
the large stadiums and arenas because of precision, ease of deployment, and
capacity features.
The company also delivered mobile services at the 2008
Democratic and Republican national conventions.
TE believes DAS is more important alongside picocells and
microcells in getting the maximum potential out of small base stations.
TE Connectivity introduces Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) in
India
Recently, TE Connectivity launched Distributed Antenna
Systems (DAS) in India.
The company said that Distributed Antenna Systems are
central to 4G rollout plans of mobile operators. DAS will help mobile
operators, as they need to cost-effectively deploy small cells.
