Zain 5G technology trials show 70 Gbps speed over 2GHz spectrum

Zain Group said its 5G technology trials at the Zain Innovation Center in Kuwait achieved maximum throughput speeds of over 70 Gbps over 2GHz spectrum.

“Today’s demonstration marks a leap forward in the implementation of 5G network capability and reflects our commitment to be an innovator across our operations. This ongoing testing program will enable Zain to accelerate its mobile broadband network transformation to 5G,” said Bader Al-Kharafi, group CEO of Zain.

Eaman Al Roudhan, CEO of Zain Kuwait, said the company will be in a prime position to offer unique products and services, including many smart city and IoT (Internet of Things) initiatives.
