T-Mobile 5G is the fastest in United States

The latest Speedtest Intelligence reveals T-Mobile was the fastest mobile operator in the United States during Q1 2021 with a Speed Score of 50.21 on modern chipsets.

Calculating median latency for top mobile providers in United States during Q1 2021, AT&T and Verizon Wireless had the lowest latency at 32 ms.

T-Mobile had the highest Consistency Score in the U.S. during Q1 2021, with 84.8 percent of results showing at least 5 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload speeds. AT&T was second and Verizon Wireless third.

T-Mobile’s 5G had the fastest median download in the U.S. in Q1 2021 at 82.35 Mbps. AT&T was second (76.60 Mbps) and Verizon Wireless third (67.24 Mbps).

T-Mobile subscribers with 5G-capable devices were connected to a 5G service 65.4 percent of the time. Verizon Wireless and AT&T displayed 5G Time Spent values of 36.2 percent and 31.0 percent, respectively.

At the state level, the District of Columbia again showed the fastest median mobile download speed in the U.S. during Q1 2021 at 67.42 Mbps, a 1.7 percent decrease from the quarter prior. Delaware was second, New Jersey third, Rhode Island fourth and New York fifth.

Mississippi again had the slowest median download speed during Q1 2021, followed by Wyoming, West Virginia, Iowa and Vermont.

AT&T was the fastest provider in 30 states during Q1 2021. T-Mobile was fastest in 11 states during the same period. GCI and Verizon Wireless were each fastest in one state during Q1 2021. Results were too close to call in eight states.

AT&T was the fastest operator in 33 of the 100 most populous cities in the U.S. during Q1 2021. T-Mobile was the fastest provider in 15 cities during Q1 2021 and Verizon Wireless was fastest in 14. GCI was fastest in one city during this time period and the results were too close to statistically call in 37 cities.

T-Mobile is America’s 5G leader with the fastest and largest nationwide 5G network covering 287 million people across 1.6 million square miles.

T-Mobile’s Ultra Capacity 5G can deliver speeds around 300 Mbps with peaks of 1 Gbps, and now covers 125 million people.

A new report published by research firm umlaut shows T-Mobile customers get the most reliable 5G in the U.S. umlaut examined real customer usage from millions of device measurements across top wireless providers and found T-Mobile customers have the most 5G coverage, the highest 5G speed score and the most reliable 5G, further solidifying T-Mobile’s position as the 5G leader.

Independent data from Opensignal, based on customer usage from billions of device measurements, shows T-Mobile customers get the fastest 5G download speeds, fastest 5G upload speeds, and a 5G signal more often than anyone else.
