Ofcom, telecom regulator in the U.K., announced that it will start its auction of airwaves for mobile operators targeting to offer 4G and 5G spectrum on Tuesday 20 March.
Airspan Spectrum Holdings, EE, Connexin, Hutchison 3G UK, Telefonica UK and Vodafone will be participating in the spectrum auction in the U.K.
Ofcom is auctioning 40 MHz of spectrum in the 2.3 GHz frequency band, which will allow mobile operators to improve their current services. Ofcom is also auctioning 150 MHz of spectrum in the 3.4 GHz band to prepare for 5G services.
