Nokia has announced an agreement with Vodafone Qatar to lead a nationwide network modernization initiative. The partnership aims to transform Qatar’s digital landscape by delivering faster, more secure, and highly adaptable 5G services to consumers and businesses.
The project, a major expansion of the longstanding collaboration between the two companies, will see Vodafone Qatar leveraging Nokia’s technology solutions to boost network capacity, reduce latency, and introduce greater agility through automation and enhanced security. This modernization will accelerate time-to-market for new capabilities and prepare the network for next-generation innovations.
As Qatar’s digital economy continues to grow — driven by an 8.5 percent annual forecast for the ICT sector through 2030 — Vodafone Qatar is committed to meeting rising demand for high-speed, reliable connectivity.
Nokia’s network solutions will enable Vodafone Qatar to transform its network with intelligent broadband access, innovative 5G slicing services for enterprises, and future-ready infrastructure that evolves alongside emerging digital applications.

Raghav Sahgal, President of Cloud and Network Services at Nokia, highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership: “Through near zero-touch automation, Nokia will provide greater network agility and service offerings, equipping Vodafone Qatar with the tools they need to more efficiently manage and extract greater value from their network assets.”
Key elements of the agreement include the deployment of Nokia’s multi-cloud core software solutions — such as Packet Core, Converged Charging, and Networks Data Analytics Function — running on the latest cloud technologies. These will bring cloud-native grade automation, agility, and scalability to Vodafone Qatar’s multi-access core network.
Additionally, Nokia’s Digital Operations software will enable end-to-end orchestration, 5G slicing automation, and AI-driven assurance, paving the way for fully autonomous networks. Nokia will also integrate automation across IP and optical networks, supported by a five-year managed services agreement for core operations — accelerating service rollouts, reducing operational costs, and ensuring a future-ready network.
