Deutsche Telekom CEO Tim Hottges, in the company earnings report, has described 2024 as another record year for Deutsche Telekom, emphasizing growth across all business areas. He highlighted the company’s strategic flywheel, which continues to generate momentum, positioning Deutsche Telekom for further success in 2025.

Adjusted net profit for the year increased by 18.3 percent to 9.4 billion euros, while unadjusted net profit declined by 37.0 percent to 11.2 billion euros. The decline in unadjusted net profit was primarily due to the high one-time gain from the 2023 sale of the majority stake in GD Towers. Looking ahead, Deutsche Telekom projects an adjusted EBITDA AL of approximately 44.9 billion euros for 2025, marking an expected increase of around 4.5 percent.

Germany

Total net broadband additions for the year stood at 134,000, while the TV customer base expanded by 311,000.

Mobile service revenues increased by 2.1 percent in the fourth quarter, and branded contract customer additions reached 261,000 during the same period, bringing the total customer base growth in this segment to 1.2 million for the year. Adjusted EBITDA AL grew by 8.1 percent to 30.9 billion U.S. dollars. The financial performance was driven by strong customer growth, with T-Mobile US adding 6.1 million new postpaid mobile customers, including 3.1 million phone customers.

The number of customers using High Speed Internet, a fixed-network substitute product, reached 6.4 million by the end of 2024, representing an increase of 1.7 million.

Customer growth remained strong, with the mobile contract customer base increasing by 729,000 and broadband lines growing by 234,000. The number of TV customers across various platforms also rose by 126,000 over the year.

T-Systems

T-Systems, Deutsche Telekom’s Systems Solutions unit, successfully met all financial targets in 2024 despite economic challenges in the automotive industry. Order entry increased by 10.8 percent year-on-year to 4.0 billion euros. Revenue grew by 2.8 percent to 4.0 billion euros, while adjusted EBITDA AL saw a 14.8 percent rise compared to 2023, reaching 369 million euros and exceeding the guidance of 0.3 billion euros.
