China Mobile Reports RMB794.7 bn Revenue for First Nine Months of 2025, Profit Up 4% Driven by 5G and Broadband Growth

China Mobile announced that its operating revenue grew 0.4 percent year-on-year to RMB794.7 billion for the first three quarters of 2025. Revenue from telecommunications services increased by 0.8 percent to RMB683.1 billion, while sales of products and others declined by 1.7 percent to RMB111.5 billion.

The company’s profit rose 4.0 percent to RMB115.4 billion, with a net profit margin of 14.5 percent. EBITDA grew by 0.9 percent to RMB265.4 billion, representing 38.8 percent of telecom services revenue. Meanwhile, network operation and support expenses fell slightly to RMB205.1 billion from RMB206.3 billion last year, reflecting improved cost efficiency.

5G Customer Base Surges to 622 Million

Under its “1-2-2-5 strategy,” China Mobile accelerated its digital transformation across customer, home, and enterprise markets.

As of 30 September 2025, the telecom giant recorded 1.009 billion mobile customers, with 5G network users reaching 622 million, up from 599 million at the end of June 2025. Handset data traffic grew 8.3 percent year-on-year, and average handset data usage (DOU) increased 8.1 percent to 17.0GB per month. The mobile ARPU (average revenue per user) stood at RMB48.0 for the first three quarters.

China Mobile continues to strengthen customer retention through initiatives like the Tenure Loyalty Program and GoTone Upgrade Plan, focusing on segmented and value-driven customer operations.

Broadband Subscribers Cross 329 Million

In the “Home Market,” China Mobile enhanced its AI Home (Aijia) ecosystem and accelerated upgrades to its smart home service platform.

By September 2025, the company’s wireline broadband customers reached 329 million, representing a net addition of 14.2 million in the first nine months of the year. Of these, household broadband users totaled 288 million, up 9.76 million during the same period. The blended household ARPU was RMB44.4.

AI and DICT Businesses Drive Growth in Enterprise Segment

In the “Business Market,” China Mobile deepened its platform-based operations, strengthening its focus on key accounts, commercial clients, and AI+ initiatives. The company reported that DICT (Data, Information, Cloud, and Technology) revenue continued to show robust growth, with AI-related revenues expanding rapidly.
