Bite Group partners with Nokia to advance 5G network capabilities

Bite Group, a leading telecom operator in Latvia and Lithuania, has chosen Nokia’s Packet Core appliance-based solution to enhance its network architecture and support the rollout of advanced 5G services. This partnership is set to simplify Bite’s network infrastructure while significantly boosting the capacity and performance of its core network.

Nokia @ Mobile World Congress 2024

By deploying Nokia’s appliance-based Packet Core, Bite aims to provide its customers with ultra-reliable connectivity and enhanced mobile broadband services. This solution will also enable the company to offer more sophisticated services, such as mobile enterprise virtual private network (VPN) solutions.

The Nokia solution comes with a pre-integrated, modular server-based configuration that offers increased flexibility. This setup supports a wider range of business and operational models, allowing Bite to quickly target new customer segments and explore new revenue opportunities. The enhanced network capacity will enable Bite to expand its Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) offerings, particularly in underserved areas, and deliver high-speed broadband services to both home and enterprise customers using Nokia’s 5G Standalone solution.

Additionally, Bite will incorporate Nokia’s MantaRay Network Management solution for a unified and automated network view, improving network monitoring and management. The company has already been utilizing Nokia products, including FastMile 5G Receivers, to enhance broadband connectivity for its users.

Mindaugas Rauba, CTO at Bitė Group, commented on the partnership: “We are extending our collaboration with Nokia to strengthen our network capabilities through its packet core and fixed wireless access solutions. These enhancements will bring significant improvements to our network quality, service delivery, and, most importantly, the overall customer experience.”
