Mobile communication services revenue in the Asia-Pacific region is projected to grow at a CAGR of 2.3 percent, rising from $310.6 billion in 2025 to $347.3 billion by 2030, according to GlobalData. This growth is primarily fueled by increasing mobile subscribers and the rapid expansion of 5G networks across the region.

Mobile data services will remain the largest contributor to overall revenue, supported by rising adoption of high-ARPU 5G offerings. Developed markets have already achieved significant 5G penetration, while emerging markets such as Pakistan and Sri Lanka are accelerating full-scale rollouts, further strengthening data revenue growth.
Government-backed 5G strategies across key markets including China, India, Japan, South Korea, and Australia are playing a crucial role in expanding network coverage and fostering innovation. These initiatives include public investments, industry collaboration, and improved spectrum policies.
China is expected to maintain its position as the world’s largest 5G market, with 88 percent of mobile subscriptions projected to be on 5G by 2030. Meanwhile, average monthly data usage in the region is forecast to rise sharply from 26.6GB in 2025 to 45.6GB in 2030, driven by increased consumption of video and social media content.
Advanced 5G ecosystem development in countries such as China, Japan, and South Korea is also enabling growth in IoT and industrial applications. However, mobile voice revenues are expected to decline at a CAGR of 9.2 percent, as users increasingly shift to OTT-based communication services.
