Voice over Mobile Broadband subscriptions to reach 450 million by 2016: MarketResearch.com

Telecom Lead America: The increased commercialization of
both the VoLTE and VoHSPA standards across the globe will accelerate the growth
of VoMBB and help VoMBB subscriptions to grow at a CAGR of nearly 150 percent
from 2013 to 2016, accounting for 450 Million VoMBB subscriptions by the end of
2016.

Voice over Mobile Broadband (VoMBB) subscriptions is
estimated to reach nearly 10 million by the end of 2013, due to the early
efforts of North American and South Korean CDMA carriers, according to
MarketResearch.com.

 

VoMBB refers to the end to end routing of standard mobile
phone calls over a mobile broadband networks such as LTE and HSPA.

 

The report anticipates that by 2016, almost 5 percent of
all worldwide mobile carrier voice subscriptions will be based on VoMBB, which
will generate nearly $100 Billion in voice service revenues.

 

VoMBB will help service providers to reap benefits in the
form of improved spectral efficiency, cost reduction per subscriber, high
quality audio, user terminal power savings and the ability to offload voice
capacity to other technologies such as WiFi.

 

Alcatel-Lucent leads service provider VoIP and IMS market share
in Q1

 

Telecom equipment maker Alcatel-Lucent is leading the
service provider VoIP and IMS revenue market share in Q1 2012. Alcatel-Lucent
