Idea Cellular reveals its 4G subscriber base

Idea Cellular 4G launched
Telecom network operator Idea Cellular today said its 4G subscriber base reached 680,000 in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2016.

The Aditya Birla group company has 4G presence in 10 telecom circles in India. The company has achieved this 4G subscribers in less than six months. Bharti Airtel is yet to reveal its 4G subscriber base.

On the other hand, Idea Cellular has 22.90 million 3G subscribers on its network.

Idea Cellular today said its revenue reached Rs 9,483.9 crore in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2016 from Rs 8,422.5 crore in the same quarter last year.

Q4 profit of Idea Cellular fell to Rs 575.6 crore from Rs 941.8 crore.

Idea Cellular 4G

Idea Cellular has 14,643 4G telecom sites, and 50,060 3G sites and 126,833 2G cell sites during the March quarter of fiscal 2016.

Idea Cellular has 44.01 million (41.35 million) data customers from 2G, 3G and 4G businesses. Data volume was 82.23 million MB. Data ARPU was Rs 147 (Rs 145)

3G data volume at Idea Cellular was 56.16 million MB (53.6 million MB). 4G data volume was 1.43 million MB.

Data ARPU of 2G, 3G and 4G subscribers was Rs 191 (Rs 196). Idea Cellular did not share the data ARPU for 4G subscribers.

Idea Cellular says 4G services coverage reached 3,946 towns and villages in 10 service areas — Maharashtra & Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Haryana, Punjab, Karnataka, Orissa, NESA and Tamil Nadu including Chennai.
