Airtel has revealed the company’s ARPU, revenue, Capex and Opex during the first quarter of fiscal 2021-2022.
Bharti Airtel reported revenue of Rs 26,854 crore (+21.2 percent), EBITDA of Rs 13,189 crore with EBITDA margin of 49.1 percent.
Airtel’s India business posted revenue of Rs 18,828 crore (+19.2 percent). Mobile services India revenues rose 21.9 percent due to improving realizations and sustained increase in 4G customer base.
4G customers increased by 46.1 million to 184.4 million, accounting for 57 percent of mobile customer base.
Airtel’s Mobile ARPU touched Rs 146 vs Rs 138 in Q1 fiscal 2021. Monthly mobile data consumption per customer reached 18.5 GBs, up by 13.7 percent.
Digital TV business added 282K customers, increasing the total subscribers to 18 million.
Capex
Airtel’s total capital expenditure for the quarter ending June 30, 2021 was Rs 65,908 million.
Airtel has deployed additional spectrum in multiple circles to significantly enhance high speed data capacity.
Airtel India has rolled out additional ~2,400 towers and ~55,000 mobile broadband base stations, expanding network coverage. Capex of mobile business of Airtel India was INR 43,744 million.
The company also deployed additional spectrum across 900, 1800, 2100 and 2300 band in multiple circles to improve network availability and data speeds, delivering the best network experience to its customers.
Airtel has kicked off several initiatives to improve network quality – leveraging digital tools / probes to monitor and improve customer experience. Airtel has enhanced Vo-Wi-Fi adoption to improve indoor experience. Airtel has over 26 million customers using Vo-Wi-Fi services.
