Indian telecom operator Bharti Airtel has launched its Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
Earlier, Airtel launched VoLTE services in Mumbai metro. Reliance Jio’s VoLTE service reaches across India.
Airtel VoLTE will offer HD quality voice calls to users of 4G enabled mobile devices with an Airtel 4G SIM.

In the case of non-availability of 4G, Airtel VoLTE customers can connect calls automatically on 3G / 2G network to ensure seamless connectivity. There is no additional cost for making VoLTE calls on Airtel 4G network.
Airtel, which launched 4G services across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in Oct 2016 on 10 MHz of 1800 MHz FD LTE spectrum, does not reveal the number of 4G subscribers in the circle.
“VoLTE capabilities on our 4G network in Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh enables high definition voice qualities and faster call set up time,” said Dharmender Khajuria, chief executive officer – Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh, Bharti Airtel.
Wireless customers can check mobile device compatibility at www.airtel.in/volte. Airtel has tested and certified popular device models for VoLTE compatibility.
Users can upgrade the mobile device’s operating software to the latest version that supports VoLTE.

Customers with dual-SIM handsets have to insert the Airtel 4G SIM in the data SIM slot/slot 1 and set network mode as “4G/3G/2G (Auto)”.
