Wipro urges communications service providers to tap Enterprise Mobility business

By Telecom Lead Team: At the Mobile World Congress, global information technology (IT)
provider Wipro Technologies released a research report that states: businesses
are set to accrue significant benefits from enterprise mobility including sales
growth, operational efficiency gains, and heightened employee productivity.

The report,
Winning the Enterprise Mobility Opportunity: Know your customers, or lose them,”
is prepared by interviewing 164 senior business and IT executives who are
leading the development and adoption of enterprise mobility solutions within
their organizations.

Wipro report highlights that Communication Service Providers
(CSPs) and Telecom Equipment Vendors (TEVs) must construct an integrated
product development, marketing, and sales strategy that leverages their innate
strengths and sets them apart from likely competitors.

To differentiate themselves from competitors CSPs and TEVs
must overcome the barriers facing their network and enterprise mobility
initiatives. Seventy percent of the survey respondents described security as an
above average barrier to the adoption of mobility solutions.

Ensuring quality of service is important. Latency and
downtime, while generally accepted in the consumer market, will not be
acceptable for mission critical enterprise solutions.

Considering the ubiquitous nature of communications industry
in all business vertical, it becomes imperative for communications providers to
sell and delivery industry-tailored mobility solutions.

Communication Service Providers (CSPs) and Telecom
Equipment Vendors (TEVs) must move out of their comfort zone the
communications layer and delve into the provision of enterprise mobility
applications that solve the complex business problems faced by their clients,” said Ayan
Mukerji, the senior vice president and global head of Wipro Technologies’ Media
and Telecom Strategic Business Unit.

Wipro’s comprehensive suite of converged services addresses
the entire digital value chain which includes Content Providers, Independent
Software Vendors, Network Equipment Vendors, Communication Service Providers,
Media, Entertainment & Over-the-top (OTT) players as well as Device
Vendors.
