Vodafone U targets young Indians

Vodafone U plans
Vodafone India today announced Vodafone U targeting young Indians who are socially active on smartphones.

India has around 200 million youth population.

Vodafone aims to cash in on the data demand of the Indian youth. The Indian telecom operator is offering 3G and 4G services to boost its mobile data business. Vodafone has not added its 2G network, which is available across the country, in the Vodafone U plan.

Vodafone India announced the special plan at a time when Reliance Jio Infocomm announced its 4G referral program to expand its 4G subscriber base. Reliance Jio, promoted by Indian billionnaire Mukesh Ambani, has already claimed that it has around 5 lakh subscribers for trials.
