Vodafone to remove PWC as auditors

Telecom operator Vodafone Group is planning to remove PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as auditors.
Vodafone 5G ItalyVodafone said an unnamed company filed a legal action on 18 December, naming Vodafone as one of a number of defendants. Some of PWC partners are acting as administrators for this company.

PWC will continue as the Group’s statutory auditors for the year ending 31 March 2019. Vodafone is concerned that it is uncertain how this legal action may evolve and whether future developments may give rise to risks to audit independence.

“Vodafone Group Audit and Risk Committee has decided to launch a tender process for the audit of the year ending 31 March 2020. The audit tender process is expected to conclude in February 2019,” Vodafone said.
