Naveen Chopra, director, Vodafone Business Services, said the company’s enterprise business revenue doubled in the last four years.
Vodafone India, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Vodafone plc of the U.K., has increased its number of services to four areas from earlier one. Global services, large enterprises, SME and government are the four focus areas for Vodafone.
Government is becoming a strong focus area for the telecom operator.
“We target at least 1 million SME customers in 200-250 cities in India out of 4 million present. At present we work with 200,000 customers. We are moving from mobility and added more capabilities. We have a large fixed telephone network. This was done as part of our expansion plans. We believe that both fixed line and wireless will merge over a period of time,” Chopra said.
Under the large enterprises, Vodafone targets around 5,000 corporates. It has a dedicated team to tap the large enterprises. SMEs are tapped through Vodafone’s 250 channel partners. Telecom operators such as Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications are also stepping up their enterprise offerings.
Vodafone network

Vodafone’s MPLS backbone is powered by 10G / 40G / 100G.
Incidentally, Vodafone has India’s largest and world’s second largest 100G network with 49,000 km.
The acquisition of Cable & Wireless is assisting Vodafone to tap large enterprises and MNC corporates in India.
M2M

M2M may be a reality in 3-4 years in India.
In Mobility, Vodafone has 65,000 customers with 5 million

Explaining the M2M use cases, Chopra said that power, automobile, finance, etc. can be the big areas for development.
