Vodafone launches DISCOVERenables trainee(s) program to identify best talents in India

Vodafone India has launched an intensive training and development program designed to identify, retain and develop high-quality talent from leading educational institutes in India and groom them for leadership roles across Vodafone’s operations.

DISCOVERenables trainee(s) program is designed to work across functions, undergo customized training modules. It provides an exposure to Vodafone’s growth and career opportunities.

As part of this program, Vodafone will identify top-notch talent by visiting more than 20 top-ranked B-Schools and T-Schools in India such as the IIMs, XLRI, MDI, SIBM, IIFT, JBIMS, SCMHRD, SP Jain, and FMS amongst others.

Vodafone offers inductees job rotation across functions, states and countries. They also get career path insight, tailor-made development plan that suits each individual, coaching and mentoring, projects, amongst others. With these inductees can make educated career choices.

Prospective leaders will undergo 12-18 months development journey based on 70:20:10 principle of development. Of this, 70 percent of the development takes place through on the job learnings, 20 percent through coaching and mentoring, and 10 percent through classroom training.

Through its Mentorship program, Vodafone’s top management will play a critical role in grooming the participants by acting as their anchors and sponsors in their career, the company said.

Commenting on the launch of this program, Ashok Ramchandran, director – Human Resources, Vodafone India, said Vodafone’s“DISCOVER CAMPUS Program will ensure that employees feel valued and will go the extra mile to contribute to an organization that has their development as priority.

Vodafone India has over 11,500 employees across India. The company boasts of HR policies and systems. The company recently was recognized as one of ‘India’s Best Companies to Work For 2013, an initiative by ET – Great Places to work.
