Uninor posts 23% organic revenue growth in 6 circles in third quarter

Uninor India, a subsidiary of Norwegian telecom service provider Telenor, on Thursday said it achieved 23 percent organic revenue growth in 6 circles in the third quarter of 2013.

The organic revenue reached $124 million (NOK 729 million).

However, the reported revenue decreased 15.6 percent. Recently, the telecoms exited from a number of circles.

The Indian telecom arm of Telenor has around 1.5 million new subscribers.

Uninor revenue growth Q3

Uninor said competitive environment is improving, with signs of price increases in India. On Wednesday, Bharti Airtel, a rival of Uninor, said its revenue increased 9.9 percent in the second quarter of fiscal 2014.

Uninor ARPU increased to Rs 100 in Q3 from Rs 97 in Q2, reflecting the price increase in the Indian telecom market.

The company’s Opex (operating spending) and Capex (capital spending) were impacted by launch of 870 new sites in India.

Uninor is now targeting cash flow break-even by end of 2013. Uninor EBITDA growth was 65.7 percent in the third quarter of the current year.
