TelecomLead Awards 2017: TelecomLead Leader – Vodafone

vodafoneThe jury of TelecomLead Awards 2017 has decided to present TelecomLead Leader award to Vodafone for the company’s strategies and contribution in the Indian telecom market in the last 12 months.

TelecomLead Leader Awards is the most prominent part of TelecomLead Award 2017 announced on August 23.

Vodafone Group continued its network investment and pricing strategies in India, and found a partner in Idea Cellular to pursue its larger vision for Indian telecom market. The strategy of Vodafone – investment, spectrum acquisition and cost optimization – in India, an emerging telecom market, will be viewed as an exemplary model for other operators to follow.

Vodafone has gone for the consolidation despite having 209 million mobile phone users on its 2G, 3G and 4G networks with 22.78 percent revenue share and 26 percent 4G coverage in 17 4G circles in India. Vodafone-Idea, probably the largest Indian telecom operator in 2018, will be one of the few telecom operators in India to stabilize operations and offer competitive services to consumers.

In addition to Vodafone, TRAI Chairman RS Sharma is also getting TelecomLead Leader Award this year.

TelecomLead Awards Jury details

Satya N Gupta, Jury Chairman and Jury Members including Ravindra Kr Mishra, Rakesh Mehrotra, Girish Trivedi and Baburajan Kizhakedath decided the winners of the TelecomLead Awards 2017 through two rounds of jury meeting in June / July 2017.
