How Tata Teleservices performed in 2016

Tata Docom store launch in BangaloreTata Teleservices (Tata Docomo) posted adjusted gross revenue (AGR) of Rs 9,957 crore in 2016 (–1.29 percent) as compared with Rs 10,087 crore in 2015.

Tata Teleservices, according to TRAI data, has 14772934 Internet subscribers – 7712109 Narrowband Subscribers and 7060825 Broadband Subscribers, accounting for 3.77 percent share in the Indian Internet market.

Tata Teleservices has 52.98 million subscribers in India including 13.95 in rural India, accounting for 2.99 percent share of the rural telecom market, said TRAI.

The wireless subscriber base of Tata Teleservices (also known as Tata Docomo) fell to 52.98 million in 2016 from 60.73 million. Its market share dropped to 4.7 percent from 6.01 percent.

TRAI data released on July 3 said that Tata Teleservices and Quadrant showed negative growth in their GSM subscribers.

All other telecom service providers showed positive growth in 2016. Videocon closed its wireless telephone services in May, 2016. Reliance Jio Infocomm has commenced its wireless services commercially in September, 2016.
