Telecom Lead America: Sprint, a provider of
telecommunications services in the U.S., has entered into a strategic
relationship with FreedomPop.
The partnership will expand FreedomPop’s disruptive
mobile broadband internet service in the U.S.
Under this new relationship, reedomPop will have access
to Sprint’s 4G LTE and WiMAX networks as well as its 3G network.
The partnership with Sprint enables FreedomPop to
possess a national footprint, offering free broadband to over 250 million
Americans on the Sprint 3G, WiMAX and LTE, Networks,” said Steven Sesar,
FreedomPop’s COO.
The new partnership will allow FreedomPop to compete
directly with Verizon and AT&T, anytime, virtually anywhere and in any
market.
Additionally, FreedomPop will be one of the first
customers to drive traffic on to Sprint’s 4G LTE network in 2013.

Sprint scraps Nextel network, prepares for new 4G network
Sprint is scrapping the Nextel network to make room on
the airwaves for a new 4G data network. The new network is expected to become
operational soon, largely covering 250 million Americans by the end of 2013.
