Sprint and Uplink to launch new M2M CDMA alarm communicator solution

Telecom Lead America: Sprint and Uplink, a provider of
alarm communicators, will introduce an advanced machine-to-machine security
solution called Uplink CDMA Alarm Communicator powered by Sprint in the summer
of 2012.

The advanced M2M security solution will deliver
residential and commercial customers the confidence of using secure CDMA
technology for their primary or back-up wireless alarm communications.

This CDMA Alarm Communicator will offer customers a
potent solution that raises the bar for wireless security, and is further
enhanced by Sprint’s leadership in location-based services. Uplink remains
tightly focused on making cellular communications simple and worry-free for the
alarm industry, and we are uniquely positioned as a port in the storm for our
customers as connectivity options and availability rapidly change,” said
Michael Boyle, general manager at Uplink.

Uplink was the first major alarm panel provider to offer
a Sprint CDMA-based alarm solution. It has been delivering CDMA devices since
2009.

Sprint is committed to an M2M strategy that creates
value as our partners and customers define value. Cost-effective CDMA 1xRTT is
one vital element in that strategy,” said Wayne Ward-vice president of Emerging
Solutions, Sprint.

The new Alarm Communicator marks the beginning of a
planned expansion of the CDMA security portfolio. Furthermore, it will offer a
cost-effective alternative for Uplink Dealers. The new Uplink solution will
enable alarm customers to centralize connection management and maintain
high-quality wireless alarm connectivity for years to come.

The Uplink CDMA Alarm Communicator will feature alarm and
event reporting capabilities, real-time signal delivery in Contact ID, SIA,
Modem IIe/IIIa/IIIa2 and Pulse 4/2 formats, Web management from a secure
dealer portal, and fast installation with automated activation.

Recently, Sprint
launched Sprint Complete Collaboration, a comprehensive hosted and fully
managed unified communications (UC) bundle for businesses.
