The decision to extend the contract, originally scheduled to expire on 30 September 2025, was approved by the MTN Group Board of Directors during its meeting on 29 November 2024.

“The extension of Ralph Mupita’s tenure will provide continuity during a period of significant global and regional uncertainty. It will allow MTN to navigate the geopolitical dynamics, market volatility, and macroeconomic challenges affecting the business,” MTN Group Chairman Mcebisi Jonas said.

Ralph Mupita has been a key figure in steering the African telecom operator through complex environments, with his leadership contributing to the company’s resilience and growth amid evolving challenges.
