KT
Korean telecom network operator KT Corporation is planning to make an investment of KRW2.5 trillion or $2,090 million towards Capex in 2016 against KRW2.397 trillion in 2015.

KT, which competes with SK Telecom, plans to bring differentiation in its product offerings against competitors in order to transform customer perception.

It plans to expand GiGA coverage to 100 percent across apartments in Korea by the end of the year.

KT will be making investment in GiGA infrastructure to boost sale of its new services such as GiGA internet, GiGA Wi-Fi and GiGA LTE.

KT is targeting changes in KT’s revenue structure in the calendar year. “We expect revenue growth from other fixed line businesses such as broadband internet and VDF to be more than offset in the decline in PSTN revenues starting this year,” said KT announcing Q4 financial result.

Wireless revenue of KT grew 0.7 percent to KRW7.3707 trillion. Wireless service revenue of KT rose 3.4 percent on higher LTE penetration, increase in high-quality subscribers led by greater use of data and sale of value added data products such as data top-up.

LTE subscribers of KT account for 71 percent of the total base. ARPU of KT rose 0.8 percent quarter on quarter to KRW36,491.

Fixed line revenue on PSTN declined 6.9 percent to KRW5.1587 trillion.

Broadband business is expected to reach more than 2 million GiGA internet subscribers by the end of the year. GiGA internet subscriber increased to over 1.1 million and IPTV subscribers above 6.5 million, said KT.
