KDDI revenue, operating income and profit

KDDI announced revenue, operating income and profit for the first half of the fiscal year ending March 2019.
KDDI revenue Q3 2018KDDI reported operating revenue of ¥2,462.3 billion (+1.9 percent), operating income of ¥561.2 billion (+3.4 percent) and profit of ¥345.5 billion (+4.9 percent) in the first half of the fiscal year.
KDDI 5G planKDDI, a leading telecom operator in Japan, said the increase in revenue was mainly due to the revenue increase of value-added APRA revenues and profit increase of the Business Services segment and Global Services segment, despite a decrease in mobile communications revenues.

KDDI’s operating revenue rose 1.9 percent to ¥2,462,269 million during the six-month period ended September 30, 2018, reflecting an increase in revenue from handset sales, as well as increases in revenue due to expansion of the Life Design Business, including the energy business.

Operating income increased by 3.4 percent to ¥561,192 million, mainly due to an increase in sales, despite increases in the cost of handsets.

KDDI 5G

KDDI said it will launch 5G services in 2019. KDDI, in September 2018, opened KDDI DIGITAL GATE, a business development center for 5G and IoT for creating new business solutions with customers.
