Idea Cellular Q1 FY 2015 revenue up 16%, net profit grew 57%

Idea Cellular today said its first quarter revenue in FY 2015 rose 15.6 percent to Rs 7,560 crore, while its net profit grew 57.4 percent to Rs 728 crore.

Idea Cellular’s consolidated revenue includes Indus 16 percent contribution.

The Aditya Birla group company said EBITDA rose 20.9 percent, driving EBITDA margin to 33.2 percent.

Idea added 3.2 million net new customer additions, now servicing 139 million users.

ARPU of Idea Cellular improved to Rs 181 in Q1 FY 2015 against Rs 173 in Q4 FY2014.

MoU / Subscriber increased to 401 minute from 397 minute.

Average Realisation per MB (ARMB) data rate improved by 1 paisa to 26.3p.

The company posted 23.6 percent mobile data revenue growth. The net Mobile data consumer base has risen in the quarter by 2.6 million to 27.9 million.

The data ARPU — 2G and 3G — improved to Rs 108 and Usage per Data subscriber is at 409 MB.

The telecom operator said its 3G broadband services presence enhanced to 11 service areas covering 72 percent of its subscriber base.
