Huawei powers China Mobile’s CA test with 180% surge in uplink rate

Telecom network vendor Huawei said China Mobile completed the world’s first uplink CA (Carrier Aggregation) field test – achieving 180 percent increase in uplink rate.

Utilizing Jiangsu Mobile’s commercial network, the test included uplink CA and 64QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) demonstrating uplink CA’s performance in a live network. The test brings one step closer towards actual commercialization, said Huawei in a statement.

Besides this uplink CA verification, China Mobile, world’s #1 telecom operator based on subscriber base, has already started upgrading the entire network in Shenzhen to TDD LTE-A by enabling the downlink CA.
