Globe Telecom mobile broadband service outperforms two key competing brands

Telecom Lead Asia: Tattoo, the broadband brand of Globe
Telecom, has outperformed two key competing brands in the prepaid mobile
broadband segment in salient measures, according to a study.

The study, commissioned by Globe Telecom and conducted by
Nielsen from February 1 to 14, 2012, was among 250 households of internet users
in the National Capital Region, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

AC Nielsen conducted the tests twice inside the homes of
the surveyed respondents, one in the morning and another one in the afternoon
or evening.  For each surveyed household, three prepaid broadband sticks
were tested in random order.

In terms of page downloading, Tattoo showed a 68 percent
download success rate against the competing brand which showed 42 percent
download success rate.

Average download speed of Tattoo was at 966.7 KBPS,
higher than the 602.4 KBPS posted by the competing brand. For uploading, Tattoo
chalked-up a 58 percent upload success rate, versus 28 percent upload success
rate of the competing brand.

Tattoo loaded the Facebook page at 72 percent page
loading success rate, higher than the competing brand’s 54 percent success
rate. For loading the Google page, Tattoo performed at a 69 percent page
loading success rate versus the competing brand’s page loading success rate of
54 percent.

The tests show that Tattoo is the brand to beat in
mobile broadband, outperforming competition in terms of reliability. As we are
undergoing a major change in our network, our customers can expect much better
browsing and downloading experience moving forward,” said Nikko Acosta,
Consumer Broadband Business Head of Globe Telecom.

Tattoo has been exceeding the minimum speed reliability
of 80 percent set by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC). Minimum
speed is 12-48 kbps.

Tattoo has been expanding its line-up of nomadic
broadband offers for consumers that cater to varying needs of people who need
internet connectivity on-the-go. These include the lifestyle sticks Tattoo
Player, Tattoo Explorer and Tattoo Stylista, which comes customized with unique
offers and freebies. Tattoo prepaid offers include Tattoo Sonic, the
best-in-value 3G broadband stick; Tattoo 4G Flash; and the Tattoo 4G
Superstick, a personal WiFi device.
