George Andah of Airtel Africa to join its rival GLO

George
is joining as the chief operating officer of one of the leading telecoms
operator in Africa, GLO.

George, who was formerly at Guinness Ghana Breweries, was awarded the Marketing
Man of the Year in 2009, along several other awards he picked up for his
marketing acumen.

He has also been credited as having played crucial roles in MTN Ghana’s growth
and huge success as a market leader in Ghana.

His move could be part of GLO’s plan to capture the Ghanaian market and also
make it a leading brand as he did with Bharti Airtel, MTN and Guinness Ghana.

George’s move is said to be strategic for Glo’s plans to become a wireless market
leader in Ghana, especially with his experience in the Ghanaian market while
working for MTN. Glo is expected to launch its services this month.
