China Mobile revenue drops 0.2% to RMB 566.7 billion

China Mobile has posted operating revenue of RMB 566.7 billion (–0.2 percent), EBITDA of RMB 225.5 billion (+5.3 percent) and profit of RMB 81.8 billion (–13.9 percent) during the third quarter of 2019.

China Mobile had around 942 million mobile phone customers as at 30 September 2019. 4G customer base of China Mobile was 747 million, representing a net increase of 34.33 million for the first three quarters of the year.

Data traffic business maintained sound growth momentum with handset data traffic recording a year-on-year increase of 124 percent. Handset data DOU reached 6.6GB, representing a year-on-year increase of 116 percent.

Voice usage minutes declined 8.2 percent. Total SMS usage rose 40.9 buoyed by the rapid growth of corporate SMS. Mobile ARPU was RMB 50.2 for the first three quarters of the year.

China Mobile has added 28.36 million wireline broadband customers to take the number to 185 million in the first three quarters of the year. Wireline broadband ARPU amounted to RMB32.7.
