Axiata revenue grows 13.3% to RM5.7 bn in first-quarter

Telecom operator Axiata Group has reported revenue of RM5.7 billion (up 13.3 percent) during the first quarter of 2024.

We met our revenue targets and achieved significant improvements in underlying operating profit, thanks to our operational excellence program and an improved business mix,” Vivek Sood, Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Axiata said.

XL Indonesia revenue rose 11.8 percent to RM2,548.4 million supported by rational pricing environment with ARPU uplift setting an all-time high of IDR44,000 (10 percent) and improved contribution from data and digital services.

Robi’s Bangladesh revenue grew by 7.2 percent to RM1,083.9 million driven by strong subscriber growth of 4.5 percent and ARPU growth to BDT140 from BDT138.

Dialog’s Sri Lanka revenue dropped by 13.8 percent to RM652.9 million due to lower contribution from hubbing as Dialog pivots away from the low margin business.

Smart’s Cambodia revenue grew 10.7 percent to RM472.6 million attributed to data growth of 14.6 percent from its prepaid business.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Link Net’s revenue fell 6.7 percent, impacted by lower enterprise revenue.

EDOTCO revenue grew by 7.2 percent to RM613.4 million, mainly driven by higher contribution from Bangladesh, Cambodia and Philippines on the improved co-location and Build-to-Suit (B2S) towers.

DIGITAL

Boost revenue grew by 8.9 percent to RM33.5 million supported by growth in Boost Credit and Boost Connect.

ADA revenue grew by 58.7 percent to RM236.6 million, largely supported by growth in e-commerce, customer engagement, data & AI.
