Top telecom carriers based on 2013 revenue include AT&T, Verizon, NTT, China Mobile, Deutsche Telekom, Telefonica, Vodafone, Comcast, America Movil and SoftBank.

Out of this list – prepared by Infonetics Research – two telecom operators are in the top 2 positions, three from Asia, two from Europe and two with emerging market focus. No Indian telecom operator in the top 10 rank.

At 29 percent, China Mobile has the highest capital intensity (Capex-to-revenue ratio) of the top 10 service providers by 2013 revenue. China Mobile’s capital intensity rose 6 percent over the previous year, said Infonetics Research.

China Mobile is also the top service provider in terms of mobile subscribers in Q4 13 with nearly 767 million subscribers. Vodafone Group is in the second position, followed by China Unicom, rival of China Mobile.

NTT Group, Comcast, and Orange are the leaders in VoIP subscribers, while China Telecom and NTT are leading the FTTH service provider market based on their subscribers.

The #1 cable broadband provider by subscribers is Comcast.
