Airtel offers free mobile services in rain hit Chennai

Airtel Chennai
Telecom network operator Bharti Airtel today announced free mobile services in Chennai, where rains and floods have disrupted normal life.

Airtel will be offering auto approval of talk time credit of up to Rs 30 for all Airtel prepaid mobile customers.

Bharti Airtel will also offer free 10 minutes of Airtel-to-Airtel calling for prepaid mobile customers with a validity of 2 days.

Airtel will also offer free 50MB mobile data for Airtel prepaid mobile customers with a validity of 2 days.

Bharti Airtel said its postpaid and fixed line customers, whose bills are due to be paid immediately, will get an extended time to make the payment and will experience uninterrupted services.

The company admitted that rains have impacted its mobile services in the city.

“The uninterrupted rains have also resulted in excessive water logging and disruption of essential services in Chennai, thus causing power failures and impacting our services in some regions. We are working with the local authorities to enable smooth mobile communication for Airtel customers across the city,” said Bharti Airtel in a statement.
