Bharti Airtel today announced international roaming rates – promising up to 200 percent more data benefits compared to the nearest competitor on similar packs.

Airtel’s latest international roaming pack also offers unlimited free incoming calls avoiding bill shocks to mobile customers when they travel abroad. The validity of the international roaming is 30 months. In the case of UAE, Airtel is offering 100 minutes of incoming calls.

Bharti Airtel is charging Rs 4,999 for international roaming in the US and UK, Rs 3,999 in the UAE and Rs 2,999 in Singapore and Thailand. Airtel is offering 3GB data along with international roaming pack. Post usage of 3GB data, Airtel will charge Rs 10 per MB.

Outgoing call rate is Rs 10 per minute from all countries. Airtel is offering 399 minutes of free calls to India from US, UK and UAE and 299 minutes from Singapore and Thailand. Airtel will charge Rs 10 per SMS for both local and India.

Mobile customers can activate roaming through the Airtel website, myAirtel app, USSD, and Customer Contact Centre.

Srinivasan Gopalan, director – Consumer Business, Bharti Airtel (India & South Asia), said: “Customer is looking for the convenience of carrying the same number without having to worry about billing shocks when they travel abroad.”
