Airtel free Wi-Fi app launched for faster internet

Airtel 4G network
Telecom network operator Bharti Airtel has launched its free Wi-Fi app called Airtel Hangout.

Bharti Airtel customers can download the Hangout app from Android or iOS store and latch on to the network to experience faster internet speeds. The app will notify the user about the Airtel Wi-Fi network zones. This will assist Airtel users to identify the location and start browsing the Internet.

Airtel said the service is available across 8 locations — Khalsa College, Gangaram Hospital, DLF Star Mall, DLF Grand Mall, Supreme Court, Delhi High Court and Khan Market — in Delhi NCR.

“With the Airtel Hangout app, we aim to enable more and more users to experience superior and superfast mobile internet speeds by seamlessly latching on to our Wi-Fi zone and enjoy many more internet capabilities on their mobile device on the move,” said Ajai Puri, director – Market Operations, Bharti Airtel.

How it works?

After installing the app, customers will have to validate phone number to start the session on Airtel Hangout. Once validated, every time the customer is near an Airtel Wi-Fi zone, he will automatically connect to the Wi-Fi network if he has given his consent to auto connect else he will get notified about the Wi-Fi network and he can connect to the network manually.

Customers can make these necessary settings under the app preference settings. Airtel will charge customers for Wi-Fi data consumption from their activated Airtel 3G or 4G plan.

Visitors at DLF Cyber Hub in Delhi NCR can use the Airtel Wi-Fi zone and utilize a free quota limit of 25 MB per day per device.

Users have to switch on Wi-Fi on their device settings and connect to the Wi-Fi named AirtelWiFiZone. After using the 25 MB quota, the Wi-Fi will be available exclusively to Airtel customers via the Airtel Hangout app.

Airtel recently bagged a deal to launch Wi-Fi services in MG Road, Sadar Bazaar, Sector 29, Sirhaul Village and Leisure Valley Park from the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG).
