Aircel unveils unified 2G, 3G data pricing

Aircel has introduced unified data pricing whereby users can benefit from 2G and 3G services in the same pack.

As part of the new tariff plan, Aircel will be introducing two packages for customers:

PI 27 is priced at Rs. 27 and offers unlimited 2G, 3G data to customers with validity of 7 days.

PI 128 is priced at Rs. 128 offering 2G and 3G customers 1 GB data with a validity of 30 days.

This data tariff is aimed at customers who use the data for downloading music, playing HD games, using mobile applications, live streaming of videos, and other high data usage content.

Aircel gross revenue in the first quarter of 2013-14 increased 9.9 percent to Rs 2,600 crore from Rs 2,366 crore in the same period previous fiscal.

The 10 percent increase in gross revenue is significant as Aircel last year decided to reduce presence in a number of telecom circles. However, Aircel never exited from these less lucrative telecom circles.
