ZTE completes China Mobile’s VoLTE tests

Telecom network vendor ZTE on Monday said it completed China Mobile’s VoLTE (Voice over LTE) tests.

ZTE has deployed IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) solutions to deliver stable network performance, demonstrating VoLTE capacity, voice quality and continuity during the China Mobile test.

The Chinese telecom network supplier completed the full range of tests, including network function, service function, performance test and IOT, ahead of all other participating vendors.

Infonetics Research recently said there were 51 million VoLTE subscribers and 11 VoLTE networks by September 2014. The number of telecom operators deploying VoLTE services will exceed 20 by the end of 2015.

Meanwhile, China Mobile added 19 million 4G subscribers in December, bringing its 4G subscriber base to 90.1 million in 2014. Its target for 2014 was 70 million. China Mobile added 16.8 million 4G subscribers in November and 13.5 million in October.
