Recently, Vodafone Netherlands has deployed Radio Dot System at Radboud University, Netherlands – marking the first live enterprise deployment of the system.

Ericsson’s indoor mobile coverage solution is aimed at enhancing indoor performance for mobile broadband users. The system utilizes an innovative antenna element – a radio dot – which enables high performance mobile broadband.

Verizon has deployed the Radio Dot System at its regional headquarters in Southfield, Michigan. It supports Verizon’s Advanced Calling service, including HD voice and video calling over LTE, in indoor environments.

The system uses compact Radio Dots and Cat 6A cabling, which reduces cost, complexity and power consumption for operators.

“Our work with Ericsson and this deployment of the Radio Dot System in one of Verizon’s key office locations is another example of how we are leveraging the best technology to densify our 4G LTE network and deliver seamless customer experiences, indoors and out,” said Adam Koeppe, VP, Network Planning, Verizon.

Earlier, Verizon tested the Ericsson Radio Dot System in its Lab in Walnut Creek, California.

Recently, Ericsson said Radio Dot System is a part of Vodafone’s new enterprise in-building solutions portfolio to solve limited in-building mobile coverage and capacity without relying on the availability of macro coverage outside the building.
