Turksat selects iDirect iDX 3.0 software to upgrade satellite network

By Telecom Lead Team: VT iDirect announced that
Turksat, a satellite operator in Turkey, has upgraded its satellite
network with iDirect operating software, iDX 3.0.

Turksat has enhanced its existing investment in iDirect’s
Intelligent Platform with the purchase of a new Series 15100 Universal
Satellite Hub, as well as Evolution X5 and X3 routers and Evolution line cards.

“At Turksat, communication is everything. Whether we
are working with the government or the private sector, we must be able to
deliver the highest quality satellite solutions to our customers. That’s why we
partnered with iDirect,” said Nihat OKTAY, vice president, Turksat.

Turksat’s upgrade to iDX 3.0 will expand the company’s
TurksatVSAT offering, which provides support for voice and data transmission,
Internet, VPN, and video conferencing.

The multi-channel demodulation technology of iDX 3.0
brings significant efficiency improvements to Turksat’s VSAT services.

Turksat can now reduce its hardware and bandwidth costs
and maximize hub capacity by combining up to eight inbound channels on a single
satellite line card.

“iDX 3.0 is a great investment for Turksat, because
it allows the company to improve the efficiency and flexibility of its current
services, while also reducing hardware costs, making it a scalable solution as
Turksat expands its customer base,” said Majdi ATOUT, regional VP of sales
– Africa and Middle East, iDirect.

Turksat manages and operates three satellites (Turksat
1C, Turksat 2A, Turksat 3A) and provides all types of satellite communications
through Turksat and other satellites.

Recently, VT iDirect announced that Marlink, a maritime VSAT network operator, upgraded its
global service with the integration of iDirect Evolution X5 Satellite Router
and latest operating software release, iDX 3.0.
