TransTeleCom of Russia selects Juniper Networks universal edge routers for innovtive services

Juniper Networks announced that TTK (TransTeleCom), a major
communication provider in Russia that operates one of the country’s largest
fiber networks, has selected Juniper Networks MX Series 3D Universal Edge
Routers to provide the Ethernet bandwidth.

The new routers are aimed at ensuring high-speed connectivity while
delivering innovative applications and services such as IP-VPN, L2-VPN, video
conference across Russia and IP-transit to its subscribers across 75,000 km of
cables running along railway lines and 1,000 access nodes.

“We continue to modernize our network to meet the needs of our
clients,” said Vitaly Kotov, vice-president, head of TTK’s Backbone unit.

“To gain competitive advantage, increase market share and remain
profitable, service providers need to maximize network performance and
availability while improving operational efficiency,” said Mike Marcellin,
vice president, systems strategy and marketing, Platform Systems Division,
Juniper Networks.

“TTK turned to Juniper’s Universal Edge Routing portfolio to meet
the experience expectations of their divergent subscriber base while building
in the scalability necessary for future growth with an architecture that fully
monetizes the network for the long term,” Marcellin added.

Powered by the Junos operating system, the MX Series provides a
consistent operating environment that streamlines network operations and
improves the availability, performance and security of all types of services
supported at the Universal Edge.

The MX Series delivers the most advanced routing features, including QoS
features, multicast support and industry-leading MPLS capabilities, with the
ability to scale functionality without compromising performance. The MX960 3D
Universal Edge Router is a high density Layer 2 and Layer 3 Ethernet platform
designed for deployment in a number of enterprise and service provider
scenarios.
