TELUS deploys DigitalRoute MediationZone product

Telecom Lead America: Canadian telecommunications
provider TELUS has deployed MediationZone product of DigitalRoute, a provider
of mediation solutions.

TELUS set out to replace its existing mediation platforms
in order to reduce costs for processing usage data across the company’s
multiple business support systems (BSS).

“MediationZone has reduced our total cost of
ownership for mediation, and it also provides the ability to reduce the overall
load on our business support systems. With its implementation, we are able to
efficiently meet our expanding mediation needs, the result of continuous growth
in mobile data,” said James Ritchie, vice-president of consumer
development and support at TELUS.

MediationZone is now in live operation at TELUS,
providing an integration layer between the mobile core network and the BSS.

“We are extremely pleased to work with TELUS and
look forward to supporting the next steps in the mediation replacement
program,” said Jan Karlsson, CEO at DigitalRoute.

Furthermore, TELUS has announced new trade-in program to
enable customers to get the latest, greatest wireless devices.

The program will reward customers with instant in-store
credit for their unused devices while giving them a chance to dispose of their
electronic waste safely and smartly.

“It’s a smart and future friendly way for our
customers to get to their next device faster by trading in their current device
for credit toward the latest and greatest smartphones and accessories,”
said Brent Johnston, TELUS vice-president of mobility solutions.

Working in collaboration with eRecyclingCorps (eRC),
TELUS is making its trade-in program available to all TELUS customers, both new
and existing.

“TELUS is partnering with eRecyclingCorps
to give them exactly what they want – instant credit for devices right at
the store. The TELUS trade-in program makes it easy for customers to get credit
toward the purchase of the latest phones and accessories while safely keeping
their old phones out of landfills,” said David Edmondson, CEO of
eRecyclingCorps.

Recently, Vox Mobile, a provider of managed mobility solutions for enterprises, announced
that TELUS selected Vox Mobile to offer managed mobility solutions under the
TELUS brand.
