Telenor deploys Nokia’s core solution in Denmark, Sweden and Norway

Nokia said Telenor Group will deploy its cloud-native core solution in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
Telenor Q3 2018 networkThe deployment of the core solution based on Nokia AirGile technology, including the AirFrame data center and Cloud Packet Core – will assist Telenor Group to enhance performance and drive mobile broadband service agility.

Telenor is in the process of preparing the network for the introduction of 5G.

Nokia said the cloud-native core solution will deliver capabilities in automation, enabling Telenor’s networks to adapt and scale services for people and connected things. The ability to onboard virtualized network functions across a cloud-based infrastructure will reduce time-to-market for new services.

The Nokia solution will support the introduction of 5G by enabling network slicing, allowing Telenor to expand its service offerings, Morten Karlsen Sorby, head of Telenor Group’s Scandinavia cluster, said.

Nokia will deliver an AirGile cloud-native core and deploy its AirFrame data center and Cloud Packet Core solutions, including its Cloud Mobility Manager and Cloud Mobile Gateway, Nuage Networks SDN technologies, the CloudBand Management and Orchestration Software and third-party security solutions.

Earlier, Nokia supplied cloud-native core solution to Telenor’s operations in Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
